Rudolph held it’s Memorial Day services yesterday, and honored a hero in the process.
In attendance at the All Soul’s Cemetery was Al Van Asten, who is the last surviving charter member of Elmer F. Blonien Post 485, chartered in 1946. The purple heart recipient fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe from December of 1944 to January 1945.
The City Times would like to thank Mr. Van Asten for his service, as well as all of those who served.
