For the City Times

Mother Nature was the winner on Friday night as the races at Golden Sands Speedway were cancelled due to rain. The races will be made up, however, on Friday, June 17 as Ho-Chunk Gaming presents Lucky 21 Night. After each race, one lucky fan will be selected to pick a card from the deck. If they hit 21, all concessions will sell for just $1.00 throughout the following race.

The night will feature racing from the area’s best drivers in Golden Sands’ top divisions – Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks and 4-Cylinders.

Friday will also be the first night for the “Race For The Bling” promotion. It is open to the first 16 women who sign up to race in equally-prepared race cars in a four-week series. Each winner from those weeks moves on to the final round where the winner will receive a diamond necklace courtesy of Paul Gross Jewelers. Women who are interested may contact the track office at 715-423-4660.

Grandstand gates open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 6:30 p.m. and racing getting underway at 7:45 p.m.
