Police & Sheriff calls for Jun. 15

Rapids Police Squads

Difficulty Driving: A call was made from the 4800 block of 8th St. South regarding a vehicle swerving all over the road. The driver was found to be an 81-year-old man attempting to get his mail.

Mailbox Thief: At 7:36 p.m. a call was made from the 2800 block of Boles St. regarding a complaint that their mailbox was broken into.

Drinking Binge: At 9:25 p.m. a call was made from the 200 block of 21st Ave. South regarding a note found in a dresser stating that a friend was going to “drink herself to death” — The friend was later found at a local tavern.

Angry Bird: At 11:55 p.m.  a call was made from the 700 block of Wisconsin St. regarding a noise heard upstairs by the caller. She found a hole in her upstairs window. It was later determined that a bird flew through the window.
