An array of video editing, photography, and 3-D printing is at the public’s fingertips at the McMillan Library.

Wednesday marked the opening of the library’s new Digital Media Studio, which houses video and audio equipment, as well as 3-D printers. This is offered for all ages, abilities, and interests.

Assistant Director Brian Kopetsky expressed enthusiasm for the new center and what it can bring to the community.

“The main focus of this is inspiring our community to delve into their interests and to explore their creativity,” said Kopetsky. “We’re hoping in the end we’ll have some pieces that are produced by our community members that we can push back out to the community through our library circulation.”

Funded through a Library Services and Technology grant, and the library’s endowment fund, the studio provides the training and tools desired for multiple creative projects.

The space is free, and open to the public, and anyone is welcomed to check out the new studio. The only costs will come with requested professional photo printing, and 3-D printing.

McMillan Library is located at 490 E. Grand Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids. For more information please call 715-422-5136.
