Wisconsin Rapids Weekend Rundown

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here is an extensive rundown of this weekend’s events.


Friday, Jun. 24

Fireworks & Burnout Contest – 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Golden Sands Speedway will be hosting a fireworks display along with a burnout contest. Super stocks, late racing models, stocks and 4 cylinders. Gates open at 4:30 with time trials at 6:30 and races at 7:45. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12. Golden Sands Speedway can be contacted by calling 715-423-4660.

Saturday, Jun. 25
Kids Lil’ Mudder — 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Tri-Norse Ski Jumping Club will be hosting a muddy obstacle course for kids ages 5-15. This is an open event for anyone to join, and will feature 12 different obstacles. Carnival games will also be avalable. Tri-Norse Winter Park is located at 1001 County Road O in Nekoosa.

Saturday, Jun. 25
Amateur Radio Field Day — 12:00 p.m.

This is an on-air 24 hour exercise that will test the preparation and communications for alternate forms of power, such as generators and solar power. The event is open to the public. Amateur radio license testing will be held at 3:00 p.m. This event is located at 3530 Bohn Dr. in Wisconsin Rapids.

Saturday, Jun. 25
Branded (band) 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Country music band Branded will play Camelot on the Lake on Saturday night in Nekoosa. You can catch them at 298 Leisure Ln. in Nekoosa.
