Three have been charged with drug possession after police found methamphetamine on them during a routine traffic stop.

Kyra Wirtz, 19, of Wisconsin Rapids, Michael Pflager, 27, of Nekoosa, and Bobbi Korslin, 30, of Wisconsin Rapids have been charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and multiple counts of bail jumping.

According to police reports on Jul. 9, a traffic stop was initiated in the town of Grand Rapids on Lake Ave. after the officer observed a vehicle where the registered owner’s license was revoked. The officer identified the driver as Michael Pflager, and passengers Kyra Wirtz and Bobbi Korslin.

The officer learned that Wirtz and Pflager were out on bond stemming from previous burglary charges, and were not to contact each other. Also observed was a gem bag next to the floor boards of the vehicle that contained a white rock like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Police also discovered a purse with multiple syringes inside belonging to Wirtz. The officer also found a black eye case belonging to Korslin which contained Q-tips and two pens with a white, powdery substance on them.

According to Wirtz, the items in the vehicle were not hers, and the syringes were taken from a friend so that her friend would not use them to do drugs. Pflager also denied possession of any items in the vehicle. Korslin followed suit and denied that any of the items in the vehicle belonged to her. Police would later find an orange pipe on Korslin believed to be used for smoking methamphetamine.

All three were out on bond at the time of the incident, and were not to commit any further crimes.

If convicted, Korslin and Pflager both face up to a combined 15 years and six months imprisonment and up to $30,000 in fines for two counts of bail jumping and one count of methamphetamine possession each. Wirtz faces nine years and six months imprisonment and up to $20,000 in fines for one count of methamphetamine possession and one count of bail jumping.

Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 11.
