City Meetings for the Week of Aug. 1

Wisconsin Rapids residents are always encouraged to become involved at public meetings. Here is a rundown of meetings for this week.

Monday, Aug. 1
Judicial and Legislative Wood County Water Protection Subcommittee — 3:30 p.m. at the Wood County courthouse Room 115

Items on the agenda: Discussing potential water issues in Wisconsin Rapids and how to take further action on them if needed.

Monday, Aug. 1
Planning Commission – 4:00 p.m. at City Hall

Items on the agenda include a public hearing for a revision of the official map which would reclassify 3rd Ave. North from W. Grand Ave. to W. Jackson St. from a standard arterial to a minor collector. A vice-chairperson of the committee will also be chosen.

Tuesday, Aug. 2
Human Resources Committee — 4:00 p.m. at City Hall

Items on the agenda: Presentation of the FIT Program progress.

Tuesday, Aug. 2
Finance & Property Committee — 5:00 p.m. at City Hall

The consideration of beer license and special event applications, as well as consideration of developers interested in the triangle redevelopment project.

Tuesday, Aug. 2
Public Works Committee — 6:00 p.m. at City Hall

Items on the agenda include discussing safety concerns on Daly Ave. and Lincoln St. and discussing the potential of a “quiet zone.”
