WRFD Offering Smoke Detectors to Wisconsin Rapids Residents

City Times Staff
Residents without working smoke detectors now have an opportunity to have them installed, free of charge.
The Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department have teamed up with Wisconsin Smoke Alarm Fire Education, the Red Cross, Wisconsin Fire Chiefs Association, and the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin to provide this service.
According to the news release, the fire department has received 50 smoke detectors that will be installed in homes without working smoke detectors. This is on a first come first serve basis, and is open only to Wisconsin Rapids residents.
Upon installation, a fire safety check is also performed on the home to ensure a fire safe home.
To make an appointment to schedule an installation please call Todd Eckes at 715-421-6281.
