A 28-year-old woman faces drug charges after police found illegal substances in her possession during a traffic stop.

Aubrey Mason, of Marshfield, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of an illegaly obtained prescription, and her second charge of operating while intoxicated.

According to police reports, on Mar. 24, an officer observed a driver, later identified as Mason, pull out from her home on the 2200 block of South Maple Ave. Mason was reported to have been driving on the wrong side of the road, which initiated the traffic stop.

Immediately, the officer noted that Mason had slurred speech, and showed obvious signs off impairment after failing a field sobriety test. Mason was arrested and taken to a nearby medical facility where she tested positive for 1.3 mg of “Delta 9” THC in her blood.

A further search of her vehicle police found a baggie containing a white, powered substance believed to be methamphetamine, and a syringe containing a small amount of liquid. Also found were prescription drugs identified as Perphenazine, Lorazepam, and Haloperidol, neither of these Mason had prescriptions for.

If convicted, Mason faces up to three years and six months imprisonment for possession of methamphetamine, as well as additional time for charges of operating while intoxicated and possession of illegal obtained prescription drugs.

She will face a jury on Oct. 6.
