Lake Wazeecha to begin Drawdown Sept. 12

The Wood County Park & Forestry Department will begin drawing down the waters of Lake Wazeecha on Monday, Sept. 12.
Water levels will be lowered approximately eight feet at a pace of six inches per day. The purpose of this is for dam maintenance and to address sedimentation build-up on the lake.
Once complete, water levels will remain lowered for approximately 3-4 weeks. During this time the boat landing will not be able to be used. Parts of the walking trail may also be temporarily closed, as well.
