A 21-year-old woman has been charged with the possession of schedule II narcotics after police found multiple pills in her vehicle.

According to police reports, on Aug. 25, an officer wad dispatched to the 2400 block of 8th St. South where contact was made with an individual, identified as Sadie Hicks. Hicks was sitting in a parked vehicle, waiting for a friend.

After officers asked Hicks if there was anything in the vehicle they should be made aware of, Hicks allegedly told them that she had a used needle in her wallet. After admitting that she had Vicodin and Alprazolam in her possession, Hicks consented to a vehicle search.

After searching the vehicle, police would find a metal box containing pills inside. Five of the pills were identified as Acetminophen/Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and one pill of Oxycodone. Both are schedule II controlled substances. Alprazolam was also found in the box, which is a schedule IV controlled substance.

Hicks did not have a prescription for any of the drugs found in her possession.

If convicted, Hicks faces up to three years and six months imprisonment, and up to $10,000 in fines. Her initial court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 26.
