One Dead in Fatal Port Edwards Crash

A Port Edwards crash on Saturday night has left one person fatally injured.
According to a report released by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, a call was placed to dispatch regarding an accident on State Highway 173, west of County Highway GG in Port Edwards.
The investigation concluded that a vehicle crossed the center line and entered a ditch on State Highway 173. The vehicle traveled east until it struck it tree, which caused the car to overturn multiple times.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 66-year-old Kathleen Kublank, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wood County Coroner. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be involved in the crash.
Assisting the Wood County Sheriff’s Department were the Nekoosa Police Department, Nekoosa Fire Department, Nekoosa Ambulance, and Port Edwards First Responders.
