Riverkings Stay Undefeated with Win Over Dells
City Times Staff
The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings are perfect so far this year, as they picked up a 3-2 win on Saturday over the defending champions.
After four goals in the first period, it was Tyler Albitz who would snap in the game winner early in the second period for what would be the go-ahead goal to give the Riverkings their sixth straight victory.
Early goals by Michael Kelley and Adam Peterson also contributed to the three-goal game, as well as help from Iceland native and goaltender Alti Valdimarsson, who has only allowed five goals this year.
This is the second time in three years the Riverkings have raced to a 6-0 start. They face Blaine Energy for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday.
