For the City Times

On Wednesday Oct. 12, starting at 5:30 p.m., more than 25 volunteers will move over a million lights and hundreds of displays to Wildwood Park & Zoo in preparation for the 2016 Rotary Winter Wonderland set-up weekends.

Volunteers are needed for the set-up process that will begin on Saturday, Oct. 15 and continue every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. through Nov. 5.

Individuals and organizations are invited to volunteer any time during the set-up days. Those who volunteer will help hang lights on trees, fences and railings.

This year’s display is set to open the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 25.

Marshfield Rotary Winter Wonderland is a holiday light display held annually in Marshfield and is sponsored by both the Noon and Sunrise Rotary clubs. The mission of Rotary Winter Wonderland is to collect food and money to help more than 20 food pantries throughout central Wisconsin. In the past ten years, Rotary Winter Wonderland has collected more than 450,000 non-perishable food items for area pantries.
