A Wisconsin Rapids man has been charged with three counts of selling heroin, and two counts of selling amphetamines.
According to a police report, filed on Oct. 4, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation into the activities of 42-year-old Martin Berg.
Through the investigation and the work of a confidential informant, Martin was observed selling heroin on three different occasions, along with methamphetamine on two of those occasions.
One gram of heroin was sold by itself the first time, and the second and third came wrapped in a tin foil bindle of heroin with a plastic gem bag of methamphetamine. Two of these transactions were made at Berg’s residence located on the 2300 block of Rapids St.
If convicted, Berg faces up to 62 years imprisonment and up to $125,000 in fines for selling heroin and methamphetamine. His initial appearance is scheduled for Oct. 31.
