Mid-State Adds New Transfer Agreement for Corrections & Community Advocacy Program
For the City Times
Provides another seamless path to bachelor’s degree
A new agreement between Mid-State Technical College and University of Wisconsin-Stout allows students completing the Corrections & Community Advocacy associate degree at Mid-State to transfer directly to the bachelor of science in the Criminal Justice and Rehabilitation program at UW-Stout. The transfer agreement allows these students to enter UW-Stout with 55 credits of the 120-credit bachelor’s degree completed.
“This latest articulation agreement with UW-Stout creates a new opportunity for Corrections & Community Advocacy students who seek to continue their education following graduation,” said Barb Jascor, dean of Service and Health programs at Mid-State. “Our graduates now have another clear educational path to pursue a bachelor’s degree with less wasted time and credits, allowing them to move into their in-demand career faster and with less cost and debt.”
UW-Stout’s efforts to develop the agreements were led by Linda Young, associate director of Admissions – Transfer and Articulation, and Kyle Kleist, senior lecturer in the Department of Rehabilitation and Counseling. “Having an articulation agreement that shows not only how credits transfer for Mid-State graduates but also what classes remain for them to complete their degree at UW-Stout provides a clear advising tool for all parties involved,” Young said.
The new transfer agreement goes into effect immediately. For more information about this and many other flexible, affordable paths to a bachelor’s degree, visit www.mstc.edu/transfer.
