Mid-State Information Technology Students to Host Tech Expo

For the City Times
Students from the IT Network Specialist and IT Software Developer programs at Mid-State Technical College will share tips on the latest technology at the college’s 14th annual Tech Expo.
The free public event will be held this Friday, Nov. 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Center in Stevens Point. Students will be in attendance to answer technology-related questions for beginners and those who need some brushing up on a variety of technology topics.
“The IT field has become more and more socialized, and employers are looking for candidates who show good communication and personal interaction skills,” said Casey Trader, Mid-State Technical College IT instructor. “The Tech Expo gives students the exposure they need to hone their soft skills in a real-world setting while also giving back to the community,” he added.
Participants at the expo will enhance their knowledge of Windows 10, GPS, email apps, spam and virus protection tools, social media and much more while providing practical hands-on experience to the students interacting with community members. Everyone who attends will receive a voucher for 50 percent off a visit to the PC Clinic located at Mid-State’s Stevens Point campus.
