A 32-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man and a 19-year-old Vesper woman face multiple possession charges after a police discovered methamphetamine in their hotel room.

According to police reports, on Oct. 21, a search warrant was executed in a hotel room on the 3300 block of 8th St. South. Officers made contact with a man identified as Raymond Hines, and a woman identified as Kassidy Stelzer.

After taking Hines into custody, police found three gem bags on the bathroom floor, two containing methamphetamine, and the other containing marijuana. Police also located numerous empty gem bags in the room, as well as a digital scale with white residue on it.

The total amount found equaled 3.2 grams of methamphetamine, which is equivalent to 32 doses.

Police also found a bag containing 97.6 grams of a tan colored crystalline substance, though initial tests were inconclusive — further tests are pending. Various drug paraphernalia items were also found in the room.

If convicted, Hines faces up to 15 years imprisonment and up to $50,000 in fines for possession with intent to sell. He has a preliminary hearing set for Nov. 4.

Stelzer faces up to three years and six months imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines for a charge of methamphetamine possession. Her initial appearance is scheduled for Nov. 7.
