Local Girl Scouts want you to be informed about the safety of your dogs.

At the Parks and Recreation meeting on Wednesday, members of Girls Scout Troop 6376 earned their silver award by getting approval to create informational signs to be put up at Tails and Trails Dog Park. The signs will be weather resistant and attached to the fencing inside the park.

Information on the signs will include plants that are harmful for dogs, first aid for dogs, fun facts, pet care, and more. The scouts will raise money for these signs by selling first aid kits for dogs in the area.

There will be five signs in total after the project is completed. Tails and Trails Dog Park is located on the 23-2800 block of 17th Ave. North.
