WIs. Rapids Man Violates Bail Conditions, Damages Property
By Joe Bachman
A 28-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man has been charged with violating bail, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct.
According to police reports, on Nov. 11, officers were dispatch to a residence on the 1000 block of McKinley St. regarding a complaint that someone was pounding on his door. The complainant stated that he observed a man, later identified as Kevin Komatz, outside hitting his van.
The complainant told police that 15 minutes later, Komatz returned and damaged his fence, and kicked his front door hard enough to dent it. It was later found that the passenger side of the caller’s van had been smashed out.
Komatz was on bail at the time of the disturbance for charges of threatening law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Komatz was not to commit any further crimes while out on bail.
If convicted, Komatz faces up to six years imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines for violating bail conditions, as well as another six years for previous charges of threatening an officer.
His next date in court is Nov. 29.
