Riverkings to Play in Heritage Classic
For the City Times
The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings will take part in the United States Premier Hockey League ‘Heritage Classic’ next year.
The second-ever game of this sort will pit the Chicago Cougars against the Riverkings at MB Financial Park in Rosemont, Ill on Monday, Feb. 6. The day’s events not only include a hockey game between two of the league’s best, but a silent auction to raise money for former Cougars defenseman Matt Olson, who was seriously injured last year during a game.
“The players are very excited about this event,” said Quarters. “Outdoor hockey has really taken on a life of its own and this is the first time anyone on the team has had the opportunity to play in one of these events. — “We all have a common goal and feed off of each other. The two teams have a lot of respect for each other, but the games are always very competitive.” (quote courtesy of usphl.com)
