For the City Times
The Wood County Land Conservation Department is offering a variety of species for their 2017
Tree, Shrub and Native Wildflower Sale.
Orders are due Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 and buyers will be notified sometime in April when trees are ready to be picked up. The species we are offering are:
American Plum, Antonovka Apple, Black Cherry, Black Walnut, Douglas Fir, FlameMaple, Highbush Cranberry, Midwest Crabapple, Red Osier Dogwood, White Birch, White Cedar, and White Spruce.
Tree and shrub bundles contain 25 trees. Sizes range from 6-24 inches and prices range from $18.00-$22.00 depending on tree type. We are also offering new varieties of Wisconsin native prairie wildflower seeds including Pollinator Mixes, Butterfly Mixes, Land Restoration Mixes, Erosion Control mixes, along with the Short and Tall prairie mixes.
Generic gel, tree shelters, tree planters and tree spades are also available at all time throughout the year. Generic gel is a starch absorbent that retains water and gives it back to the plant during dry periods.
Tree shelters are 4-foot plastic, seamless, twin-walled tubes. They protect newly planted seedlings from wildlife damage.
