Aspirus’ next series of yoga classes are coming up.

The classes are held at Aspirus Riverview Hospital and are led by Tarah Mancl, RYT, YogaFit Registered Yoga Teacher.

Classes will be held on Thursdays, from February 2 through March 23. The cost of each eight-session series is $48 ($40 for those 60 and over, Aspirus Riverview employees and volunteers, and Aspirus Riverview Auxiliary members).

Chair Yoga will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Chair Yoga participants learn to become stronger, breathe better, increase range of motion, and improve balance without getting on the floor. The class includes movements while sitting in a chair and standing with the support of a chair. Movements are adapted to each participant’s ability.

Gentle Yoga will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m or from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Gentle Yoga participants learn to become stronger and more flexible. The class’ gentle, flowing movements involve time standing as well as on hands and knees. The class is designed to help with healing, sleep and relaxation.

Yoga registration opens Thursday, January 19, at 8 a.m. Participants may register and pay by credit card at aspirus.org/classes or by check (no credit cards or cash) at Aspirus Riverview Hospital’s front desk. Early registration is recommended, as space is limited. Only one registration per person is accepted. A signed waiver is required (available at first class). Minors require the signature of a parent /guardian. For more information about Aspirus’ yoga classes, please call 715-421-7500.
