One Dead in Wisconsin Rapids Apartment Fire

An apartment fire may have claimed the life of a 59-year-old man on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, at approximately 3:30 p.m. a call was made to report the smell of smoke in an apartment complex. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire put itself out, but a 59-year-old male was found deceased in the residence.
Detectives from the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department were also on the scene, and the cause of the man’s death remains unknown and is still under investigation. The victim’s name is not being released until family can be notified.
