Police & Sheriff Calls for Jan. 1
Basement Dwellers: At 10:04 a.m. a call was made to report banging and footsteps coming from a basement on the 100 block of 18th Ave. South that later turned out to be playing children.
Hit and Run: At 7:55 p.m. a report of an accident was made on the 1500 block of 21st Ave. South. While no injuries were reported, the vehicle in question struck another, and drove off.
Unwanted Guests: At 10:36 p.m. a complaint was made from a a neighbor on the 1300 block of Chestnut St. regarding multiple people going in and out of a house of current Wood County Jail inmate. Police soon arrived to quell the situation.
Manic Sunday: At 10:53 p.m. a call was made to dispatch concerning a woman who had been screaming out into the neighborhood of 1st St. North.
