Rapid Fire: Top Five Weekend Events

Here is a rundown of the top five weekend events and activities happening in the area.

Friday, Jan. 20
“The Wonder Bread Years” starring John McGivern — 7:30 p.m.

Join John McGivern from PBS as he puts on a performance that is called a “funny and fresh salute to Americana”. This will be held at the Performing Arts Center, located at 1801 16th St. South. For more information, please click here.

Saturday, Jan. 21
Kiwani Youth Outdoors Day — 10:00 a.m.

Join the Wisconsin Rapids Kiwanis Club as they host Youth Outdoors Day. This will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Nepco Lake County Park, located at 1410 Griffith Ave. Winter activities such ice fishing, snowshoeing and skating will be on hand. Lunch will be provided.

Saturday, Jan. 21
Fisheree at Rome — 8:00 a.m.

The Lake Sherwood Lodge will be hosting a fisheree from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trophies, prizes, raffles, and food will be provided. For more information, please call 715-325-2636. Lake Sherwood Lodge is located at 1146 W. Queens Way in Rome.

Saturday, Jan. 21
Candleight Ski, Snowshoe and Bonfire — 4:00 p.m.

Hit Nepco Lake park on Saturday for a night of snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Chili and hot chocolate will be provided. This event follows the Kiwanis Youth Day event. Nepco Park is located at 1410 Griffith Ave.

Saturday, Jan. 21
‘A Day for Jay’ — 11:00 a.m.

A fundraiser to support a local Wis. Rapids nurse will be held from 11:00 a.m. until midnight. Kids activities, musical performances, raffles, food, and much more. This will be held at the Wild Horse Saloon, located at 9031 County Rd. WW. For more information, please click here.
