An 18-year-old Nekoosa native was arrested on charges of LSD possession after police discovered him on a roof with a paintball gun.
According to reports, on Jan. 28, police were dispatched to the 700 block of Point Basse Ave. in Nekoosa regarding a claim of a man shooting at vehicles with a paintball gun. The complainant told police that his vehicle was struck on the side with paintballs.
Police soon located a man on a roof identified as Riley Esselman, who allegedly admitted that he was the shooter. As officers were taking Esselman to the squad car for transport, a black bag fell out from somewhere on his body.
Inside the bag police found marijuana, as well as a wrapped piece of tin foil containing seven strips of LSD. According to court documents, Esselman was previously convicted of marijuana possession and obstructing an officer on June 27, 2016.
If convicted, Esselman faces up to seven years imprisonment for possession of LSD and his second offense of marijuana possession. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 8.
