City Times Staff
Theatre buffs and residents alike can enjoy a trio of performances this weekend.
Mrs. Sorken, Graceland, and Wanda’s Visit will be performed this weekend at the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre. You can catch this winter production on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
Mrs. Sorken will be performed by Lucy Runnels, and is a tale of a middle-aged suburban woman who greets the audience and informs them on the history of the theatre. However, the tides quickly turns as she realizes that she has lost her notes.
Graceland will be performed by Linda Garski and Izzy Macomber, and tells a story of two women who fight to be the first to enter the gates of Graceland one early morning. Both are camped outside the gates three days prior to the opening. Both women go from arguments to compassion in this moving tale.
Wanda’s Visit will be performed by Mike Barrett, Letty Demski, and Mike and Wendy Fait. In this play, a couple has been married for 13 years and have become bored and unhappy. This changes when an ex-partner shows up and becomes the guest from hell.
Admission for these shows are $15, and will run Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2:000 p.m. Tickets available at the door or you can reserve them by calling 715-421-0435.
