The Riverkings have captured their first USPHL Elite Midwest Division Regular Season Championship.

The crew hit River Falls on Friday for a make-up game that led to a 6-3 victory over the Renegades. Six different scorers contributed to the winning effort, including Adam Peterson, who led the team with three points — one goal and two assists.

Goalie Atli Valimarsson looked impressive in the win by stopping 21 shots on goal.

On Sunday, the Riverkings continued their dominance over the division with a 7-1 victory in Minnesota over the Forest Lake Lakers. Played in the Mariucci Arena, the wealth of goals were spread nicely, as seven different players found the back of the net.

Forward Ryan Mantz led the way in this game with three points on the night, which included two assists and one short-handed goal. Goalie Erik Schuette picked up the win with 22 out of 23 saves. The Riverkings have now won eight straight games.

The Riverkings return home to South Wood County Recreation Center next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 17-18) against Blaine Energy as they close out their regular season before hosting Playoffs.
