Superintendent Search Down to Three Finalists

The search for a new school district superintendent has been narrowed to three.
Dave Aslyn, of Bayfield, Craig Broeren, of Barron, and Kathi Stebbins-Hintz, of Wisconsin Rapids, will be taking part in an additional interview round in March. Current superintendent Colleen Dickmann will be retiring in June. You can read more about her departure here.
Dave Aslyn
-Dave Aslyn is the current Bayfield, Wis. Superintendent, and has served the area for nearly 25 years. He is a graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn. He has previously served the school districts of Ashland, an Laona. Aslyn is a former combat engineer officer with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Craig Broern
-Craig Broeren is the current District Administrator at the Barron, Wis. School District. He is a graduate of St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minn where he received a Doctor of Education. (Ed.D) He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Black River Falls. He has worked within multiple school districts for over 15 years, including St. Croix Falls and Prarie Farm school districts.
Kathi Stebbins-Hintz
-Kathi Stebbins-Hintz is the current Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools. She has served the area for 22 years, including a stint as Principal for East Junior High and River Cities High School. She held the role of Staff Development Facilitator at Lincoln High School before her current role with the district.
An announcement regarding the selection of a new Superintendent will be issued once a final decision has been made.
