Incumbent Tony Evers will face challenger Lowell Holtz in April’s general election for State Superintendent.

In Tuesday’s primaries,  Evers gained nearly 70% of the vote, with former Beloit superintendent Holtz taking in around 25%. The two beat out former Dodgeville School District Administrator John Humphries.

Evers gained approximately 65% of the vote in Wood County, with Holtz pulling in around 25%.

They square off April 4, as the conservative Holtz, who favors school voucher expansion, will try to oust Evers from his position. Evers is against such an expansion, and wishes to put more effort into public education.

We will have more coverage on this as election day rolls near.
