Grand Ave. Pub & Grille Reopens After Renovation
By Joe Bachman
The Hotel Mead welcomed an old guest with a new look this week.
The Grand Avenue Pub & Grille celebrated their grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday evening. The restaurant, considered “upscale pub cuisine”, uses locally sourced meats and products to fill their menu.
The remodel started late last year, as a part of hotel renovations, which included the upgrade of various guest rooms. The grille will feature nightly drink specials, live entertainment, and locally brewed beer.
“We worked hard for three months to update our restaurant,” said owner Brenda Schellin, who co-owns the Hotel Mead with her husband Melvin. “We hope everyone comes in and enjoys.”
The eatery will now serve breakfast and feature a new daily buffet, with the exception of Saturday. This also comes with an expanded pub area and an updated menu.
“We are going to be here for a long time,” said Schellin. “We are very family orientated — we want to know what you like, what you don’t like, and we aim to please.”
