Rapid Fire: Your Top Five Weekend Events

Here is a rundown of the top five weekend events happening in the area.

Thursday, March 2 – Saturday, March 4
Riverkings Vs. Chicago — 7:30 p.m.

Catch the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings in their quest for a USPHL championship. They play a best-of-three series against the Chicago Cougars in a semifinal matchup. Games are Thursday and Friday, as well as Saturday if necessary. For more information, please click here.

Friday, March 3
Joe Marcinek Band at Hollyrocks — 9:00 p.m.

The Joe Marcinek Band will be playing Hollyrocks in downtown Wisconsin Rapids on Friday night. The band is a fusion of jazz and funk, and plays all original music.

Friday, March 3
Elk’s Lodge 693 Fish Fry — 4:30 p.m.

The start of seasonal fish frys at Elk’s Lodge 693 has begun. Fish frys will be held weekly until April 14. The Elk’s Lodge is located at 430 Jackson St.

Saturday, March 4
Fifth Annual Empty Bowls — 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Help fight hunger in the area with the fifth annual Empty Bowls. Held at the First English Lutheran Church, $10 will get you a bowl of soup, bread, beverage and desserts. This event is located at 440 Garfield St.

Sunday, March 5
Pancake Breakfast — 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Wrap up the week with a pancake breakfast, held at St. Phillip NCSF Annual Pancake Breakfast in Rudolph. This breakfast is sponsored by the National Catholic Society of Foresters.
