For the City Times

The 2016/17 swim season was a success for many of the swimmers on the South Wood County (SWC) YMCA Black Sharks Swim Team.

The nine qualifiers swam their best times of the season, dropping significant times in their events allowing them to qualify for the Wisconsin State swim meet March 17-18 in Brown Deer, Wis., as well as the Midwest Regionals swim meet March 25-26 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn.

State qualifiers include Dylan Engelbright, Brycen Henslin, Luke Grosshuesch, and AJ Plummer. Regional qualifiers include Dylan Engelbright, Jillian Engelbright, Brycen Henslin, Luke Grosshuesch, Madeline Krzykowski, Ellie Rietveld, Nathan Scheunemann, and Josie Staven.

“We are excited about the great results that many of our swimmers had during this year’s swim season and I look forward to seeing some great swimming at state and regionals from those that qualified.” said Head Coach Doug Wickersham.

The South Wood County YMCA Black Sharks Swim Team offers an opportunity for competitive swimming from October to April, as well a Summer Developmental Swim Team program in June and July. Congratulations and good luck to all swimmers.
