JCPenney in Wisconsin Rapids will be closing its doors.
According to a news release, the company listed 138 stores affected by the closings, one of which will be Wisconsin Rapids. Approximately 5,000 employees could be impacted by the move, most of which will occur by June.
JCPenney is also in the process of relocation opportunities for those in the company with leadership roles, as well as outplacement support services. The closure also affects the Marshfield JCPenney location inside the Woodridge Shoppes.
The majority of affected stores will begin a liquidation process on April 17.
JCPenney is located at 555 W. Grand Ave. in the Rapids Mall.
