Kubisiak Wins District 7 Council Election
By Joe Bachman
WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Thaddeus Kubisiak is your next city council District 7 Alderperson.
Kubisiak has defeated challenger Darren Brinegar for the District 7 seat on the council. He will step in for current alderperson James Stack, who did not run for re-election.
“I want to congratulate Darren for a clean race and an easy, feel-good type of campaign,” said Kubisiak. “I want to applaud him for running for office, and I want to encourage people to run for office, whether it’s city council, or school board, or state assembly.”
Kubisiak is a Wisconsin Rapids native who graduated from Lincoln High School and later grabbed a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration from Winona State University. He would later get his Masters Degree in the same field from the University of Oshkosh. He was a Journeyman Ironworker for Ironworkers Local 383, and soon became a village administrator in the Town of Spencer. He currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor for Mid-State Technical College.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to give back and serve the community that my family and I grew up in, and there’s been four generations of Kubisiaks that have lived in the city — I want to continue that,” said Kubisiak. “We can move forward — instead of building silos I want to build bridges; I want to work with and get the best people possible instead of push people out.”
“I want to use my past work experience and education to help the community.”
Kubisiak won by a vote count of 181 to 43. Results will be made official when canvass is completed on April 11.
