Brandon Roberson appointed to his new role for the College at state conference in Madison
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College student Brandon Roberson, Auburndale, has been selected as its Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) State Ambassador for the 2017–2018 school year.
Roberson will assist in the College’s efforts to develop a greater awareness for the high quality of technical education and the positive impact technical colleges have on the community. He was recognized in his new role at the State Ambassador Conference in Madison on April 19 and 20, along with the other new State Ambassadors from the 15 other colleges in the WTCS.
Although strong academics are one criterion for selection, the state ambassador role is an opportunity awarded to one outstanding student who possesses additional qualities, such as community involvement, leadership in and out of the classroom, and a true commitment to higher education in the WTCS.
Roberson is a current student on the Marshfield campus in the Business Management and Accounting programs. According to Mid-State instructor Trina Kloehn, “Brandon is an exceptional individual who expresses a unique combination of intelligence, humor, humility, and dedication that allows him to excel in and outside of the classroom.”
“It feels good to be named Mid-State’s next State Ambassador,” said Roberson. “I aim to represent my classmates to the best of my ability, and I’m eager to get out in the community and share what you can accomplish with a technical school education.”
Mid-State also recently named Alexandra Lothe, Stevens Point Business Management and Marketing student, and Christina Hoyt, Wisconsin Rapids Gerontology and Nursing student, as ambassadors of their respective campuses. Each of Mid-State’s new ambassadors was recognized during a luncheon at the College and received a $100 scholarship.
