MILWAUKEE — Two Lincoln High School students were awarded the Herb Kohl Education Scholarship last week.
The $10,000 scholarship was presented to seniors Adileen Sii, and Alexis Allworden at a recognition luncheon hosted by Wisconsin philanthropist and businessman Herb Kohl. The scholarship amount was originally set at $5,000, but Kohl surprised the students by announcing that he had doubled the amount to $10,000.
The Herb Kohl Scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated a high level of motivation and have shown strong promise for achieving success in college and beyond, and have overcome significant personal obstacles or adversity.
The foundation awards 200 students annually with scholarships throughout Wisconsin.
