NEKOOSA – The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area has announced that it’s signature wine and beer tasting event, A Toast to Great Futures, which took place last Friday, April 28, in Nekoosa was a success.

With over 300 in attendance they were able to raise over $40,000 to help area youth.

The event allowed guests to sample premium wine and craft beer, paired with local cuisine from Great Expectations. One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised will benefit the more than 2,100 youth who are impacted by the Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area.

“We are so grateful for everyone in the community who made this year’s event a success,” said Boys & Girls Club Development Director Lindsey Wilson. “Our community is full of generous people who care about youth. This event is a fun way to see their generosity in action. We look forward to doing it again next year!”

New to the event this year there was a silent auction with the hottest item being a stand up paddle board, and then a wine & whiskey raffle with high-end, specialty products, which was a huge hit.

The date has been set for next year’s event, so mark your calendars now; it will take place April 27 at the Nekoosa Community Center.

A Toast to Great Futures was made possible by the generous support of presenting sponsors The Dental Suite, Aspirus, TerMaat Glavin Group, The Rafters and Richard’s Liquors.
