Mid-State’s Annual College Camp Lets Students Explore Variety of Hands-On Careers

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College is hosting its annual Camp Mid-State for central Wisconsin students who will be entering grades six through eight this fall.

Students interested in actively exploring careers through education are encouraged to attend this day-long event. Camp Mid-State 2017 is scheduled for June 14, 2017, at Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus (500 32nd St. North).
Each attendee participates in three career exploration sessions of their choice. Sessions offered this year include Accounting, The MIKE mobile lab (advanced manufacturing), Cosmetology, Corrections & Community Advocacy, Criminal Justice-Studies, Early Childhood Education, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Protection Technician, IT Network Specialist, Nursing, Phlebotomy Technician, Urban Forestry Technician and Welding.
The deadline for registration is May 31. There is a $38 registration fee that covers the event, including all three sessions, snacks, lunch, camp gifts and bus transportation. Participates are encouraged to register early as sessions are first come, first served.
Check-in is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and the camp concludes at 4:30 p.m. that afternoon. Bus transportation is provided to and from specific locations in Adams-Friendship, Auburndale, Marshfield, Nekoosa, Pittsville, Plover, Port Edwards and Stevens Point.
