Fun, competitive event raises funds for scholarships

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College is celebrating its 30th Annual Foundation Golf Outing with a “1987 Golf Party,” an 80s-themed homage to the 1987 inception of the Foundation.

The 18-hole fundraiser tees-off Monday, June 12, at the Bull’s Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids. All proceeds from the event will benefit a variety of Mid-State Foundation student programs, such as scholarships, grants and emergency funding.

“This annual golf outing raises more money for student programs than any other Mid-State Foundation event over the course of the year,” said Jill Steckbauer, Foundation & Alumni director. “Monies from all our fundraisers help change lives, create hope, and assist students in realizing their academic goals and dreams for an in-demand career.”

The cost of the event is $150 per person and includes a golf cart, picnic lunch, steak dinner, drink ticket, skins game entry, mulligan, 24 par 3 raffle tickets and a bingo card. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m., tee-off is at 10:00 a.m., social hour starts at 3:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 4:30 p.m.

There will be many opportunities for prizes, including gift certificates for top three teams from scratch score and a door prize drawing for a chance to win a men’s Citizen Eco Drive Titanium sports watch valued at $695 from Paul Gross Jewelers. All participants will also have the opportunity to bid on auction items at the social and dinner hours and vote on best-dressed theme team.

The deadline to register or sponsor the event is May 19. More information can be found at www.mstc.edu/golf. Call 715-422-5322 or email [email protected] with any questions.
