WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Beer and cheese; reason alone to celebrate.

As a part of this year’s Cranberry Blossomfest, the city has approved a special events application for “Beer and Cheese: A Downtown Block Party”. The event will be held on Friday, June 16 on 2nd St. North in the downtown area.

This event will include the closure of 2nd St. North from Jackson St. to Oak St. “Beer and Cheese: A Downtown Block Party” will feature craft beers, local cheese, as well as live music and food from local vendors.

“Our goal for this event is to really highlight the downtown businesses and the beauty of it all,” said Owner of Richard’s Liquors Zach Coleman. “As opposed to setting up a beer and tent and trying to take money away from the bars we want to highlight what they’re already doing, and reasons why people can go out and have a nice, responsible night in our beautiful town during blossomfest.”

Partnered with the event will be Hollyrock’s Tavern, Karen’s Wines & Steins, Whiskey Rapids Saloon, and Jennings Bar.
