WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Last June, a fourth Kwik Trip location was approved for the area, and construction got underway this week.

Approved through a conditional use agreement in which 18 requirements were met by Kwik Trip to build, ground breaking and early stages of construction can be seen by anyone driving past Lincoln St. and E. Riverview Expressway.

This location went through months of debate and revision, as the safety of the location was under fire regarding high traffic. However, concerns of traffic have been addressed through a traffic impact analysis study done last year, deeming the area safe for drivers.

Kwik Trip promises the location will bring well-paying jobs to the area, and keep a low level of disturbance for its neighbors, including adjusting the position of a car wash to face the expressway to reduce noise, limitations of hours of use, restrictions on outdoor music and the brightness of animated signs, and fencing along 6th St. and Dewey St. for privacy concerns.
