WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Central Rivers Farmshed are seeking feedback on local farmers’ markets from local area seniors.

The project is being led by Central Rivers Farmshed, and they will be leading an information gathering project to learn more about local markets, and to identify constraints, opportunities and recommendations from multiple perspectives of interests groups.

These interests will look to promote community building, access to healthy foods, and the ability to increase the livelihoods of farmers. Central Rivers are currently holding separate discussions with different interest groups, then will invite representatives from all groups to come together at a stakeholder meeting later this year.

Cental Rivers is looking to come up with three to six strategies that the community would like to use to strengthen the Peach St. and Wood County Farmers’ Markets. A focus group will be held with local area seniors at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) in Wisconsin Rapids, and are seeking participants.

Registration is limited to 12 people, and will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 1AM to 3PM. This meeting will be held inside the Brehm Conference Room inside the ADRC, located at 220 Third Ave. South.

To reserve your spot, please call 715-544-6154 or email [email protected] to reserve your space. If you are not a senior, but are interested in participating in a discussion about the Wisconsin Rapids farmers’ markets, please contact Farmshed at [email protected]
