July 14

Whoops: At 9:52 a.m. a call was made from the 700 block of Ninth St. South to report that a semi-truck had taken down some wires in the area.

Bose Thief: At 1:17 p.m. a report was made from a business on the 2500 block of W. Grand Ave. regarding the theft of a Bose stereo in the lobby.

Begging for Change: At 1:52 p.m. a call was made to report a woman on a mobility scooter asking others for cigarettes and money in the area of Peach St. and Eighth St. South.

Welfare Check: At 12:19 a.m. a call was made from the 100 block of Second Ave. South to report that a man had been sleeping by a utility box and was staggering around earlier that evening.

Phantom Prowler: At 4:09 a.m. a report was made from the 500 block of Griffith Ave. concerning a man who believed someone was in his house earlier that shouldn’t have been.

July 15

Gas Drive-Off: At 6:41 a.m. a gas drive-off was reported for the amount of $37 at a convenience store on Eighth St. South. The driver removed her plates and wore a black hoodie to avoid detection.

Liquor Thief: At 7:26 p.m. police were notified of the theft of liquor from a grocery store on the 1800 block of Baker Dr.

Wannabe: At 9:33 p.m. a report was made from a convenience store on the 1700 block of 17th Ave. South regarding a “strange” man with a neck tattoo hanging around the area. He was telling others that he just got out of jail, and that he was in a gang.

Cat Nap: At 3:39 p.m. authorities were notified of a man laying on the sidewalk in the area of Sixth St. South and Dale Ave.
