ARPIN — This summer, energy and education literally go hand in hand.

Arpin is hosting multiple events over the next couple of weeks that focus on energy education, and some featured energetic activities included closing a circuit by holding hands, turning on light bulbs by cranking a machine, and making strawberry shakes by pedaling a bike.

These activities provided Arpin’s summer learning program participants with real examples of energy. Pedal Power is part of the University of Stevens Point’s K-12 energy programs.

Below is a schedule of events over the next couple of weeks:

Tuesday, July 25

A Creative Power artist will share his story about the Creative Power Art Exhibit being shown at the Arpin Library from July 7 to August 25. This program will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Arpin Library, 8091 County Rd. E.

Fairest of the Fair (Marshfield Fair) will read to children at the Arpin Library from noon to 1:00 p.m. SLP registrants and non-registrants are welcome.

Monday, July 24

Essential Oils II —  Kris-Rued Clark will facilitate this informal round table discussion about the various uses for essential oils in our daily lives. Kris ordered more than 40 books on essential oils for participants to review and check out. This program is ideal for beginners and long-term users whether your interest centers around essential oils for health, aromatherapy or cleaning.

Tuesday, August 1

End of Summer Learning Program picnic will be held in Kandy Kane Park starting at 10:30 a.m. Kane Kane Park is located at the corner of Main St. and Hillcrest Ln. in Aprin.

Between Aug. 1 – 21 a display about the August 21 solar eclipse and other current space related events will be available at the Arpin Library. The first 50 visitors to the display before the eclipse will receive a pair of solar eclipse glasses.
