WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Sustainability Council members were treated to a tour of the Wisconsin Rapids Wastewater Treatment Plant on Wednesday.

Upgraded at a worthy price tag of $28.3 Million, the treatment plant manages the treatment of 4 million gallons of water per day, and is capable of up to 5.27 million gallons. Members, including Mayor Zach Vruwink learned about how the local wastewater treatment plant contributes to a sustainable water supply, as well as the ins and outs of the plant.

The tour was given by new Wastewater Superintendent Ryan Giefer, who took over for the retiring Jim Nietzel in Feburary of this year.
