WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Mid-State Technical College Foundation is hosting its annual Trapshoot Fundraiser on Friday, September 8, 2017.

The event will be held at the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association in Nekoosa and is designed to prioritize funding for student scholarships, student services and special program support. It is a major source of funding for the College’s emergency loan and grant programs that help Mid-State students stay enrolled in college when unforeseen expenses occur such as a car breaking down.

“Community involvement with our fundraisers helps our students juggle life’s unpredictable setbacks,” said Jill Steckbauer, Mid-State’s director of Foundation & Alumni. “Of all the students who have received emergency funding, 92 percent have stayed in school and completed their diploma.”

The fundraiser offers several highlights for participants, including prizes for the highest-scoring team, 25 practice rounds, 50 scoring rounds, raffles and contests, and lunch.

Both adults and children are encouraged to participate. Children ages 10–17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All participants will be required to sign a waiver of participation at the event, and shooters are asked to bring their own shotgun and shooting vest. Hearing protection and ammunition will be provided.
