For the City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Effective November 1, 2017, camping reservations will be allowed “one year in advance”.

This is a change from the current policy of eleven (11) months in advance. As an example, if you plan to camp for the July 4th holiday and you want to start camping on June 29th, 2018, you can make your reservation on June 29th, 2017.

This change is being made so that camping and shelter reservations have the same “advance reservation” policy of one year.

New policy will read as follows:
“The Wood County Parks & Forestry Department will take reservations for camping one year or less in advance (i.e. a campground reservation for July 1-4, 2018, can be made on July 1st, 2017, or any date after July 1).”

Also mentioned in the press release, effective August 7, 2017, the Wood County Parks & Forestry office at 111 W. Jackson Street in the River Block building in Wisconsin Rapids will be open for the general public, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Shelter and campground reservations will now be taken from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by phone or in person. As a reminder, camping reservations can also be made online 24 hours a day at https://reservations.co.wood.wi.us/.
