WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A veteran was honored through a donation made by the Aqua Skiers on Sunday.

Veteran Tom Sachs is a long-time member of the Aqua Skiers, as well as a past president and current volunteer. Sunday evening, a donation was made by the Aqua Skiers at Lake Wazeecha during their last public performance of the season.

A $500 check was awarded to Sachs in support of his ‘Central Wisconsin Never Forgotten’ honor flight, where veterans travel to Washington D.C. to visit memorials dedicated in their honor.  Joining the check presentation ceremony was Aqua Skier president Mike Wiberg, members of the board of the directors, and executive member of the honor flight program Jim Campbell.

Sachs served in Vietnam, and will be making the trip to D.C. in the spring.

“The Aqua Skiers thank all veterans for their service and look forward to supporting the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in the future.”
